Today’s discourse will cover the topic of:
The Path to Spiritual Transformation
Through the Divine Creator’s Blessings, we constantly receive amazing gifts of transformation.
To express our highest potential, we are given the ability to shift our human limitations to higher achievements.
Our ongoing true focus is to, each and every day, activate our spiritual transformation each day; to elevate ourselves spiritually in thought and in action.
Because Divine Source has given us the use of free will, we are empowered to choose what kind of transformative life we wish to live. The important questions are, what will we choose each day to facilitate our spiritual transformation? What are our priorities?
From the moment we have been conceived, transformation begins.
Guru Nanak says: (p. 1013-16)
Through the union of mother and father, the fetus is formed. The egg and sperm join together to make the body.
Upside-down within the womb, it lovingly dwells on the Lord; God provides for it, and gives it nourishment there. ||1||

We slowly become the spiritually evolved human being that’s been promised to emerge, through the miracle of birth and life.
Guru Nanak says: (p. 636-9)
By His Command, we are conceived, O Beloved, and by His Command, we grow in the womb.
By His Command, we are born, O Beloved, head-first, and upside-down.

Our human body is most incredible and quite a miracle. Talk about transformation! Our cells constantly rejuvenate themselves, and according to science about 330 billion cells are replaced daily, equivalent to about 1 percent of all of our cells. In 80 to 100 days, 30 trillion cells will have replenished—the equivalent of a new you. Aren’t we just miraculous beings!
And as we grow, our way of being and thinking evolves. We learn about life through our parents, through our teachers, through our observations and thus we go through many transformations, learning more about ourselves, life, and the world around us.
As we grow into adulthood, we become more aware of ourselves so that we may start to choose how we wish to transform; what we wish to connect to, so that we can go through the positive transformations that will support and guide us through this world of Maya.

Guru Ram Das has this prayer: (p. 166-15)
O my Lord, please break these bonds of Maya, and put me to work in Your Home.
Let the Lord guide you. Make the strong commitment to serve your soul and thus you shall serve humanity through the guidance of Source that comes through your soul and consciousness.
Connect to spiritual teachings and spiritual people that can offer you guidance to spiritually transform yourself.
Let us be reminded that the word Guru refers to the various living Gurus in Sikhi, as well as, most importantly, the Creator, the Source of All. Guru means teacher, one that takes us from darkness to light. And the Creator, Divine Source, the Great Sat Guru, is the highest teacher that offers transformation in our lives.
Because Guru Nanak was blessed with being infused with the Divine Creator’s Wisdom and Knowledge, he represents the ultimate Guru; He represents the Lord, the Creator, or as some may call it, Source. We come from Source.
So, the term Guru implies that the Divine Knowledge comes through the living Gurus as they are united and One with Source. Divine Light and Wisdom came through the First Embodiment of Light, which is referred to Guru Nanak, and then that Light passed on to the following Gurus, so that we may benefit from their connection to Divine, thus Divine Truth, Wisdom, and Knowledge.

As we meet with the Philosopher’s Stone, the Guru, we can be transformed into gold and blended with the Pure Light of the Infinite Lord. We are here to become as pure as gold, and to transform ourselves by realigning ourselves with the Divine Infinite Frequency of this Cosmic Creation.
Guru Amar Das says: (p. 584-19) last line on the page.
The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself.
Doubt and Maya have been removed from within me, and I am merged in the Naam, the True Name of the Lord.
Guru Amar Das also says: (p. 638-13)
I have been transformed from rusty iron into gold, O Siblings of Destiny, united in Union with the Guru, the Philosopher's Stone.
Eliminating my self-conceit, the Name has come to dwell within my mind, O Siblings of Destiny; my light has merged in the Light. ||3||
As a healer, spiritual counselor, and energy worker, I constantly share about the importance of working on one’s self. When we do so we can grow in our awareness and consciousness and let go of what doesn’t serve us.
We have no choice but to spiritually expand with a growing consciousness that allows us to connect deeper and deeper with Infinite Divine Truth.
Spiritual growth is our birthright.

And when we are committed to our spiritual growth every day, we can let go of our limitations and welcome the ever-changing new self. We open to the vastness and delight of Divine Source, and we allow ourselves to be infused with the frequencies of Infinite Divine Love.
Climbing the steps of the ladder of righteous living, we walk on a path towards Source, so that we may merge with Source, so that we may be One with Source, just as the living Gurus were One with Source. Remember, at the deepest level of our being, we are already connected to Divine Source and its infinite gifts.
What I am blessed to share here today has been often shared by many others before me, as it has been revealed countless times in the past of human history.
Wisdom has been shared for centuries. Many enlightened beings have given humanity clues as to how to expand their awareness and how to live to their true inner potential that not only serves their own path, but the path of others.

As the “Sangat of the Divine light” is an interfaith group, let us explore how some other faiths and their teachers talk about transformation.
And we will see and realize as Sikhs, how much we can relate to what other faiths say about transformation and how the messages are often very similar to what the Guru shares with us.
*In Islam, spiritual transformation is the core objective and purpose in what it means to be human. Spiritual beings must learn how to cultivate their spiritual life. Spiritual transformation in Islam occurs through four stages: the first is certainty in faith; the second is ethical practice in all spheres of behavior; the third is the liberation and discipline of the conscious; and the fourth is demonstrating the best and most virtuous action for a given moment.
All of these stages are devoted towards doing the right thing, for the right reason in the right way.
And so do the Gurus tell us the same basic principles.
Guru Angad Dev Ji says that one who lives righteously is known as righteous. He tells us to build our home of true righteousness, with the unshakable pillars of Dharma.
A form of transformation in Islam is mentioned as purification. It is a practice encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. It involves not only ritual ablutions but also the purification of one's heart and intentions. Muslims continually strive for purification to maintain a profound spiritual connection with Allah. Muslims, in this lifelong journey of purification, seek a state of inner transformation and closeness to the Divine.
The Muslim’s daily prayers serve as a continuous reminder of the importance of maintaining purity in all aspects of life. And so do we as Sikhs recite daily prayers, starting with the Japji Sahib in the early ambrosial hours of the morning. The banis and the Shabad Guru inform us on how to live righteously.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji says: (p. 622-1)
The way of the Saints is the ladder of righteous living, found only by great good fortune.
The sins of millions of incarnations are washed away, by focusing your consciousness on the Lord's feet. ||2||
*In the Christian Bible, Paul says the following about transformation:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Guru Nanak Dev Ji tells you to conquer your own mind so that you may conquer the world.
In the Christian Bible, Paul wants the believers to be "fully pleasing" to the Lord. Pleasing God includes believing in the Lord and living a life that follows His teachings.
Paul says: “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Guru Arjun Dev Ji says: (p. 80-15)
How could I forget Him from my mind, even for an instant? He is the Most Worthy; He is my very life!
*In Buddhism, people’s practice is a path of training and study aimed at becoming an awakened, liberated, wise, compassionate, and skillful person. Buddhism is a spiritual force that works on a person’s life towards enlightenment, whether it is achieved or not. Enlightenment in principle means transformation, bodhi or awakening. Buddhists awaken to truth. They wake up from ignorance, delusions, greed, hatreds and prejudices. The awakening brought about in Buddhism helps to deal with anxieties and unhappiness. In Mahayana Buddhism, teachers spoke of the "transformation of consciousness." This term refers to a revolution that arises in consciousness to enable the awareness of truth. The idea is to think beyond limited ideas of self in terms of both space and time. Buddhists ennoble their lives, to benefit others, by committing wholeheartedly to walking the path; that is to approach the embodiment of the Buddha Way as closely as possible.

For Sikhs, transformation is offered to us through the Shabad Guru, through understanding the teachings given to us through the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
The Shabad Guru enlightens us and promises “Mukti”, liberation through the Divine teachings, so that we may avoid reincarnating again and again.
When we focus our consciousness on the One, we become fulfilled, steady, strong, and connected to Divine Gifts.

*In Hinduism Reincarnation is a key belief. In Hinduism, all life goes through birth, life, death, and rebirth and this is known as the cycle of samsara, the karmic cycles.
As we know, the soul never dies. The soul reincarnates in a new body and will reincarnate until it gradually reaches ‘moksha’, liberation.
In contrast, in Sikhi, we hope that through refusing to be deceived by Maya’s corrupting influence, through letting go of our ego, and through understanding and living the Sikh Teachings, we can experience Jivan Mukti, liberation, emancipation, and freedom from bondage.
Guru Ram Das says: (p. 275-4)
One who, in his soul, loves the Will of God,
is said to be Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive.
Guru Amar Das says: (p. 66-19) Last line on the page.
Emotional attachment to Maya is shed with intuitive ease, through the Guru's Teachings.
We can avoid successive reincarnations through righteous living, through the tools given to us by the Guru, so that we may expand in consciousness.

We are taught to vibrate the Naam so that we may elevate our frequency and receive its Divine Amrit; so that we may be transformed into pure gold, into pure divine energy. So that we may meet and merge with the True One and become the Radiant Manifestation of the Excellence of the True One.
Guru Amar Das says: (p. 110-2)
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, I am totally devoted to the True Guru.
Through the Guru's Teachings, the Divine Light has dawned; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, night and day. ||1||Pause||
Search your body and mind, and find the Name.
Restrain your wandering mind, and keep it in check.
Night and day, sing the Songs of the Guru's Bani; worship the Lord with intuitive devotion. ||2||
It is through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the Guru’s Divine Words, that we are transformed into conscious beings. We are taught to connect to our higher consciousness and to the Divine Cosmic Essence of the Universe.
As we discover and unite with the Infinite Source, through the Guru’s Teachings, we are being formed anew, re-aligned, and we learn to Unite with the Divine Frequency that awakens us to our true divine nature.
Through healing modalities, through meditation, through chanting and remembering the Naam, remembering Source and connecting to the higher frequencies that actually flow through us, we expand our awareness, we expand our understanding of who we truly are, and we can then experience the profound spiritual transformation that enable us to vibrate to our true nature that is always connected with Divine Infinite Source.

Each day, we simply remind ourselves of our capacities that lie dormant within us. Deep within us lies Divine Truth, Wisdom, and Knowledge. We just have to choose to awaken these divine qualities in our lives.
And through the association of learned people and the association of the company of the Holy, the Sadh Sangat, the Saints, and the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation we can receive extraordinary benefits.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji says: (p. 505-8)
That humble being who joins the Sat Sangat shall not be consigned to reincarnation again; his light merges into the Light. ||7||
As we sit and associate with the Lord’s Divine frequency, with Source, and the Sadh Sangat, the Holy Congregation, we are transformed into spiritual gold, into Divine Energy.
Guru Ram Das says: (p. 303-6)
One who has such pre-ordained destiny comes to meet God through the True Guru.
Just as iron is transmuted into gold by the touch of the Philosopher's Stone, so are people transformed by joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation.

Guru Arjun Dev Ji says: (p. 104-6)
Singing Your Glorious Praises, my mind is rejuvenated.
Hearing Your Sermon, all filth is removed.
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate forever on the Merciful Lord. ||2||
I dwell on my God with each and every breath.
This understanding has been implanted within my mind, by Guru's Grace.
By Your Grace, the Divine Light has dawned. The Merciful Lord cherishes everyone. ||3||
As the Lord cherishes everyone, we are reminded to see God in All. We are reminded that Divine Source is within All. When we are spiritually transformed to see God in All, God comes through our eyes and heart.
The Divine Guru becomes an inspiration!
Here’s a most beautiful passage by Guru Arjun Dev Ji that talks about the Guru: (p. 250-1)
SHALOK: The Divine Guru is my mother, the Divine Guru is my father; the Divine Guru is my Transcendent Lord and Master.
The Divine Guru is my companion, the Destroyer of ignorance; the Divine Guru is my relative and brother.
The Divine Guru is the Giver, the Teacher of the Lord’s Name.
The Divine Guru is the Mantra which never fails.
The Divine Guru is the Image of peace, truth and wisdom.
The Divine Guru is the Philosopher’s Stone — touching it, one is transformed.
The Divine Guru is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage, and the pool of divine ambrosia; bathing in the Guru’s wisdom, one experiences the Infinite.
The Divine Guru is the Creator, and the Destroyer of all sins; the Divine Guru is the Purifier of sinners.
The Divine Guru existed at the primal beginning, throughout the ages, in each and every age.
The Divine Guru is the Mantra of the Lord’s Name; chanting it, one is saved.
O God, please be merciful to me, that I may be with the Divine Guru;
I am a foolish sinner, but holding onto Him, I am carried across.
The Divine Guru is the True Guru, the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord; Nanak bows in humble reverence to the Lord, the Divine Guru. || 1 ||
Through the Guru we are given intuitive balance. And intuitive peace and poise well up as the True Lord is found within our being.
Through the Guru we are given the gift of understanding ourselves and how to better live in this world. And when we do so, we are spiritually transformed so that we enjoy a life of peace as our mind has been restored to its original purity. Let’s vibrate to the Divine Guru’s frequency.
When we are restored to our divine essence, we live our lives from a deep inner place of unconditional love. We no longer fear anyone and do no strike fear into anyone. We serve all.

Guru Ram Das says: (p. 11-4)
Those who meditate on You, Lord, those who meditate on You - those humble beings dwell in peace in this world.
They are liberated, they are liberated - those who meditate on the Lord. For them, the noose of death is cut away.
Those who meditate on the Fearless One, on the Fearless Lord - all their fears are dispelled.
Those who serve, those who serve my Dear Lord, are absorbed into the Being of the Lord, Har, Har.
Blessed are they, blessed are they, who meditate on their Dear Lord. Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them. ||3||
Let us expand in awareness each day. Meditate and foster your spiritual growth and transformation!
Guru Ram Das reminds us: (p. 983-16)
Remain with the Holy man, the Saint of the Saints, who chants the Lord's Praises for the benefit of all.
Meeting the Saint of Saints, the mind blossoms forth, like the lotus, exalted by obtaining the water. ||6||
The more we are in the company of the holy and the more we work on ourselves, the more we can attain spiritual growth and the more enlightened we become.
We have no choice but to expand with the growing consciousness that is ever shifting every day through the blessings of divine teachings.
Let us let go of our limitations! Let us let go of what doesn't serve us!
When we are able to change our old, limited paradigms, our limited patterns, concepts, values, and practices, it changes something very deep within, and we upgrade ourselves to a new vibratory frequency. Change of just a few degrees makes a huge difference in one’s life.
Welcome the ever changing new you. Open yourself up to the vastness and delight of Infinite Light and Love within you.

Be intoxicated with the Lord!
Be drenched in the Lord’s essence.
Be drenched in the Divine Nectar of Amrit!
Be drenched in the Lord’s Love!
Let’s remind ourselves of the first questions that I posed: what will we choose each day? What will our priorities be?
The answers to these questions will surely transform us each day.
Life is an open book which shows you exactly what it is you need to look at and change in your life.
The decisions we make will impact our life. Do we wish to create more karma, or do we wish to expand in our psyche, in our awareness, and in our connection to our soul?
Harness those hidden capacities that live within you, as they allow you to recognize when Maya tries to influence you and take you away from your God given inner knowing.
We have to continually remember to connect with our inner Divine Guidance that will bring us the tools of Divine Transformation, so that we may be guided to be the embodiment of our divine potential.
Remember, this must be a constant focus in our lives. We cannot deviate from our journey to our spiritual transformation that brings us closer to vibrating to the Divine Infinite Cosmic Creation.
Let the Lord be the Light of your eyes!
Let the Lord come through and guide you each and every day!
And may it be so!

Please enjoy extra inspirations on this topic by Rishipal Singh ji:
Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji ki Fateh!
Thank you SimranKaur ji, thank you sangat ji, thank you Pindi kaur for a beautiful Simran, thank you Zakaria ji for leading us, and the beautiful topic that Simran ji has been speaking to us today about transformation.
When we think about transformation Sangat ji, this transformation happens one step at a time but with the three S's, SSS. Seva, Simran Sangat.
Seva is service, it is completely giving yourself each and every moment. This is giving your mind, giving your body, giving your soul, giving your wealth. tan man Dhan sabh sa-up gur (Guru Amar Das Ji: Surrender body, mind, wealth, and everything to the Guru.) With your mind you serve the Divine with your thoughts and your higher intensions. When we’re constantly making those decisions based on thankfulness, compassion, caring, sharing. We’re serving the Divine with our mind at that moment. And then with our body we’re serving where we control what we see with our eyes. We control what we’re hearing, we control controlling what’s influencing our thoughts and our emotions.
With these ears we do not hear any negativity, that slander, that gossip. These are the practical steps of how we move in the transformation that Simran ji is telling us about.
All these things that we perceive with our eyes, with our ears, these are all detrimental, to us experiencing that oneness within everybody. And then the same with our tongue – if we control our words, we control how we speak, we control our reactions. And then with our wealth, how do we serve with our wealth Sangat ji? Spending ethically, spending for the upliftment of all, sharing that wealth with others, using that wealth in a way that will uplift your spirituality, not increase your addictions and your attachments. This is the path that Guru Nanak has told us for transformation.
The next is simran or meditation – the remembrance of the divine.
And firstly, we wonder what does this meditation do? What’s this mantra doing to us?
Firstly, that mantra that is weeding out all those past emotions, all those negativities, all those illusionary thoughts that we possessed. And then that makes us receptive for that change, makes us receptive to transform. Then the Guru plants that seed of devotion within us, thus Shabad within us. And then we water that with our conviction, with our spiritual practices, all the things that we're doing, the kirtan the seva, the Sangat. It's reading the scriptures, practicing spiritual values. This is watering that seed.
Then we have Sangat. That's the glue that binds everything together, Sangat ji.
And it's in the Sangat where we're going to find that inspiration, that encouragement, that transformation. In the Sangat is where we gain that conviction. Sangat ji, where there's any doubt, there'll be no faith, there'll be no transformation. But where in Sangat, we find those divine souls who have traveled this path, the ones who tell us how to navigate through the obstacles; by observing them, but with their support we come to that place of knowing, then our doubts are lifted. We move from asking questions best based on doubts, on denials, and find the depth in our wisdom our experience. Seva, Simran, Sangat.
Simran ji mentioned the importance of the Guru. For us the Guru and the divine are exactly the same. Just imagine this that without the Guru the divine cannot be revealed within ourselves. So without that spiritual light, that enlightenment, we cannot know our true essence.
If anybody wants to understand the interaction between the Guru and the Divine, understand it in this way.
If you imagine the Divine to be your home, your house, and the Guru as the door, we cannot enter the Divine without going through the door. But at the same time that door is not separate from the house. It's one and the same. It's a part of the house.
In that way, the Guru, the Gurdwar, is the Door of the Divine. And through that Door, we end up in the Divine Home.
Our relationship, our interaction is within that Divine Source, the Divine Guru. And through that Divine Guru, we enter into the expanse of that Source, that Divine. But we do this, one step at a time Sangat Ji. Ask any spiritualist, they'll say this transformation happens at different speeds at different times for different people. So don't put pressure on yourself either. The important thing is once you make that commitment, keep moving, can we keep moving at your own pace?
Our efforts are extremely important, but don't be mistaken that this transformation is going to happen with our effort alone. This is a path that requires effort, it requires endurance. But once that endurance is met with divine grace, Gurprasad.
When it's met with divine blessings, that's when this transformation will occur.
So thank you so much, SimranKaur ji for blessing us with those beautiful words on transformation. We can also transform in this way, by making those conscious decisions as Simran ji has told us. One step at a time. Then evaluate how it makes us feel, evaluate the changes in our life and then move on, take that inspiration from the Sangat.
Build your spiritual practice with seva and Simran, and then we lead to a very beautiful path that's ahead of us.
Thank you for your time.

Guru Arjun, p. 78 – 79: from birth to death
SIREE RAAG, FIFTH MEHL: In the first watch of the night, O my merchant friend, the Lord placed your soul in the womb. In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds. You were given this time to perform good deeds, according to your pre-ordained destiny. God placed you with your mother, father, brothers, sons and wife. God Himself is the Cause of causes, good and bad—no one has control over these things. Says Nanak, O mortal, in the first watch of the night, the soul is placed in the womb. || 1 || In the second watch of the night, O my merchant friend, the fullness of youth rises in you like waves. You do not distinguish between good and evil, O my merchant friend—your mind is intoxicated with ego. Mortal beings do not distinguish between good and evil, and the road ahead is treacherous. They never serve the Perfect True Guru, and the cruel tyrant Death stands over their heads. When the Righteous Judge seizes you and interrogates you, O madman, what answer will you give him then? Says Nanak, in the second watch of the night, O mortal, the fullness of youth tosses you about like waves in the storm. || 2 || In the third watch of the night, O my merchant friend, the blind and ignorant person gathers poison. He is entangled in emotional attachment to his wife and sons, O my merchant friend, and deep within him, the waves of greed are rising up. The waves of greed are rising up within him, and he does not remember God. He does not join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and he suffers in terrible pain through countless incarnations. He has forgotten the Creator, his Lord and Master, and he does not meditate on Him, even for an instant. Says Nanak, in the third watch of the night, the blind and ignorant person gathers poison. || 3 || In the fourth watch of the night, O my merchant friend, that day is drawing near. As Gurmukh, remember the Naam, O my merchant friend. It shall be your Friend in the Court of the Lord. As Gurmukh, remember the Naam, O mortal; in the end, it shall be your only companion. This emotional attachment to Maya shall not go with you; it is false to fall in love with it. The entire night of your life has passed away in darkness; but by serving the True Guru, the Divine Light shall dawn within. Says Nanak, O mortal, in the fourth watch of the night, that day is drawing near! || 4 || Receiving the summons from the Lord of the Universe, O my merchant friend, you must arise and depart with the actions you have committed. You are not allowed a moment’s delay, O my merchant friend; the Messenger of Death seizes you with firm hands. Receiving the summons, people are seized and dispatched. The self-willed manmukhs are miserable forever. But those who serve the Perfect True Guru are forever happy in the Court of the Lord. The body is the field of karma in this age; whatever you plant, you shall harvest. Says Nanak, the devotees look beautiful in the Court of the Lord; the self-willed manmukhs wander forever in reincarnation. || 5 || 1 || 4 ||
Guru Angad Dev Ji, p. 146:
Shalok, Second Mehl:
Twenty-four hours a day, destroy the eight things, and in the ninth place, conquer the body.
Within the body are the nine treasures of the Name of the Lord-seek the depths of these virtues.
Those blessed with the karma of good actions praise the Lord. O Nanak, they make the Guru their
spiritual teacher.
In the fourth watch of the early morning hours, a longing arises in their higher consciousness.
They are attuned to the river of life; the True Name is in their minds and on their lips.
The Ambrosial Nectar is distributed, and those with good karma receive this gift.
Their bodies become golden, and take on the color of spirituality.
If the Jeweller casts His Glance of Grace, they are not placed in the fire again.
Throughout the other seven watches of the day, it is good to speak the Truth, and sit with the
spiritually wise.
There, vice and virtue are distinguished, and the capital of falsehood is decreased.
There, the counterfeit are cast aside, and the genuine are cheered.
Speech is vain and useless. O Nanak, pain and pleasure are in the power of our Lord and Master. ||1||
Guru Nanak, p. 153:
By the Hukam of the Lord’s Command, the castle of the body has ten gates. The five passions dwell there, together with the Divine Light of the Infinite. The Lord Himself is the merchandise, and He Himself is the trader. O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, we are adorned and rejuvenated. || 4 || 5 ||
Guru Arjun, p. 396:
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are totally rejuvenated. All sins and sorrows are washed away. || 1 || How blessed is that day, O my Siblings of Destiny, when the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung, and the supreme status is obtained. || Pause ||
Guru Ram Das, p. 495:
One who has found the Lord God through the True Guru, has made the Lord seem so sweet to me, through the His Teachings. My mind and body have been cooled and soothed, and totally rejuvenated; by great good fortune, I meditate on the Name of the Lord. || 1 || O Siblings of Destiny, let anyone who can implant the Lord’s Name within me, come and meet with me. Unto my Beloved, I give my mind and body, and my very breath of life. He speaks to me of the sermon of my Lord God. || 1 || Pause ||
Guru Ram Das, p. 608:
The inner depths of my mind are pierced by love for the Lord; I cannot live without the Lord. Just as the fish dies without water, I die without the Lord’s Name. || 1 || O my God, please bless me with the water of Your Name. I beg for Your Name, deep within myself, day and night; through the Name, I find peace. || Pause || The song-bird cries out for lack of water — without water, its thirst cannot be quenched. The Gurmukh obtains the water of celestial bliss, and is rejuvenated, blossoming forth through the blessed Love of the Lord. || 2 ||
Guru Ram Das: p. 668:
The Lord is the philosopher's stone, which transforms lead into gold, and sandalwood, while I am just dry wood and iron.
Associating with the Lord, and the Sat Sangat, the Lord's True Congregation, the Lord has
transformed me into gold and sandalwood. ||1||Pause||
Guru Amar Das, p. 923:
O my ears, you were created only to hear the Truth. To hear the Truth, you were created and attached to the body; listen to the True Bani. Hearing it, the mind and body are rejuvenated, and the tongue is absorbed in Ambrosial Nectar. The True Lord is unseen and wondrous; His state cannot be described. Says Nanak, listen to the Ambrosial Naam and become holy; you were created only to hear the Truth. || 37 ||
Guru Amar Das, p. 1421:
The Word of the Shabad brings eternal spring; it rejuvenates the mind and body. O Nanak, do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, which has created everyone. || 60 ||
